Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The process of upgrading an item, often referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item increases with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved through various methods that include using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged to increase their stats.
Upgradable items can be found throughout the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the main method of upgrading equipment. These are the items that slot into equipment. Most equipment has slots to upgrade and some require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any kind of equipment, and offer less than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, simply select it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected statistics after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show blocked if you don't have enough of or.
The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components required to create the specific item. The cost of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can lower the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a merchant or trading them with other players.
Nearly Cases gg can be upgraded with the use of a prefix upgrade like an insignia or rune, and many can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, for example 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They are animated to draw the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language, making them more effective in communicating the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also enhance the recall of a message by evoking a familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph comes with a range of values it can increase a stat's value, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph can enhance a stat by and not the amount it will actually increase the stat by. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier as well as the quality of the item you are enchanting.
Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that hasn't yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.
If you are looking to remove a glyph from an item then you'll need to salvage it with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item will be destroyed that it was installed in, but you can recover the upgraded item by using the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered as a loss.
A glyph added to an item could cause it to be unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory when you remove the item. You can also apply the glyph to your equipment to give it an additional benefit. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly instead of all at one time. This can be helpful for those who take many hits from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes that are placed on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, including mysterious boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an unspecified affix, which is usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens are also a good option to reroll stats on weapons that can be upgraded to increase damage or perks.
Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the item upgrade menu, but they still qualify to receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls roll the % chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but users should be aware that it can lower the overall ilvl of the weapon by the number of rerolls required to raise the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective on Diadems and rings, which have no alternatives to raise their ilvls.
The reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive and it's more fair to let people pay for it with money or food items that would allow players to modify their builds without a lot of time and effort. The developers have no plans to implement paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. Instead, they're planning to add an ability to change races in the near future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to level up an upgrade to an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of an upgrade for a given stat. The second option is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which can increase the healing or damage for an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but will have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
It is important to keep in mind that upgrades can be random. Most of the time, a better roll will come from the glyphs, however there are also chances for greater or special rolls. In addition the iLevel of an upgrade will be determined by the type of item which means that when you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique type you could gain an iLevel that is higher.
Upgrades can be expensive Particularly if you're upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on its base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to reach the next level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item will attain the highest level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional benefit. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level however. Generally speaking, the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.
Depending on the item's base level and its upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will also change. For example an item that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to a rare or exceptional item is likely to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
